| Luz E Ortiz was born August 31st, 1955. She majored in entomology at the University of Antioquia and studied Botany during Graduate School. She learned to paint from her mother, Aurora Maya, who is also a painter, and from the Institute of Fine arts in Medellín (Instituto de Bellas Artes). She is currently living in Tampa Bay, Florida. |
